Laser Safety: Our Commitment to You

At LaserX, we believe absolute safety must underpin every spectacular visual experience we build. As proud members of the International Laser Display Association (ILDA), we adhere to the highest international standards for laser show safety.

We prioritize the safety of our audiences, performers, and property by implementing rigorous protocols for every show we produce.

We operate under the core principles of laser safety established by the ILDA. Whether we are working with small indoor displays or large-scale architectural projections, our operational checklist includes:

  • Professional Supervision: Every show is managed by a trained Laser Operator capable of monitoring the beam path in real-time.
  • Emergency Control: We can terminate laser emission immediately if any safety concern arises.
  • Beam Termination: We ensure that all laser beams are terminated on safe, non-reflective surfaces. We do not point lasers at aircraft, reflective glass, or unauthorized areas.
  • Pre-Show Planning: We conduct a thorough site survey to identify and mitigate hazards, including reflective surfaces, high-traffic areas, and potential beam-clipping points.

Audience safety is our top priority. We follow strict guidelines regarding laser light proximity:

  • Controlled Exposure: In most instances, we design shows to keep laser effects above the audience’s heads.
  • Audience Scanning: While “audience scanning” (lasers sweeping over the crowd) can create a breathtaking, immersive experience, it requires exceptional care and specific technical expertise. LaserX does not perform audience scanning without strict compliance with safety guidelines, proper instrumentation, and appropriate legal permissions. We prioritize the health and safety of every guest above all else.
  • Signage: In venues where lasers are used, we provide clear signage to ensure the audience is informed and aware.

It is important to note that laser light can be hazardous to sensitive equipment, particularly camera sensors. We take proactive steps to protect photography and videography gear:

  • Reflections Awareness: We map the venue to identify and avoid reflective surfaces (mirrors, polished metal, or glass) that could redirect beams toward camera lenses or unexpected areas.
  • Camera Safety: If you are planning to film or photograph a LaserX production, please notify our team in advance. We can coordinate with our operators to ensure that beam paths remain clear of your equipment, minimizing the risk of sensor damage from direct or stray reflections.
